New York Passport Agency Expedited Passport Service

The New York Passport Agency offers expedited passport service for American citizens who have emergency travel needs and must obtain a passport fast. Applicants can get a passport as quickly as the same day when they submit an application at the New York Passport Agency.

To begin the process, you first have to schedule an appointment by calling the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778. This is an automated system so it operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This system serves all the U.S. Department of State regional passport agencies so it can take a while to get through, especially during peak travel periods.

The New York Passport Agency is located at 376 Hudson Street in the Greater New York Federal Building. You will stop by the information desk to get a queue number once you pass through the security screening and metal detectors.  You only receive a number after you present you confirm your appointment and present evidence of imminent travel plans.

You can confirm you appointment by presenting your Appointment Confirmation Number or Social Security Card. It is necessary to present evidence of your travel plans because the New York Passport Agency only processes application for U.S. citizens who need a passport expedited because they must depart within two weeks. You can submit your application form if your departure is up to four weeks away as long as you also need to get a travel visa stamped in your passport.
